Wrightsville Beach senior portraits at Blockade Runner

I wanted to highlight this senior session for location and wardrobe inspiration. This was one of my most colorful senior sessions to date. It was filled with the most beautiful landscape. The spot I was able to shoot at was the Blockade Runner Hotel in Wrightsville beach. I was so excited to be able to photograph on their lawn as my senior Brantley and her family were staying here for the weekend. A quick visit from Richmond, VA.

So one thing I like to do go over before our sessions is wardrobe. When organizing your senior session wardrobe definitely makes your photo shoot! Brantley was dressed so cute for her senior session. I grabbed some images with her sister to start off the session. This always helps loosen up the client and make them feel comfortable when they are able to share the experience with someone they love. And having her bestie with her was also the perfect accessory. Their fashion for the session was so fun and youthful. It compromised off crop tops, jeans, cute sandals, and the most vibrant colors. 

Brantley had the perfect youthful outfits during our session at the Blockade Runner hotel in Wrightsville beach. I loved how Brantley coordinated her youthfulness with her outfits. Her clothes were coordinated with easy pieces like a long sleeve sweater and shorts for a fun coastal vibe, and she elevated her style with some palazzo wide leg white pants with a fun salmon shirt. All this was a perfect carefree bright outfit choice for our shoot. 

We actually did this session in the fall if you can believe it. Her summery complexion with her clothing choices fit right into our tropical setting of the Blockade runner. I had never been there before and it definitely was a nice surprise!

What was great about this session as well was that she had a variety of outfits to fit the tropical setting, to shoot senior pics on the beach, and also to indulge in some fun pictures throughout Wrightsville Beach.

We started the morning walking towards the bridge, and did a photo walk. We got fun images on the bike, then headed into a beach dune entrance, and then back to the hotel. The images were filled with casual attire to some more dressier outfits. I loved that Brantley didn’t over dress, and it’s a true reflection of her awesome style that she had when she was in high school. She’s very youthful and fun. Her bright colors as you can tell go very well and give you a nice glimpse into her bubbly personality.

Colors and accessories in your outfit are pretty much the main components in creating the perfect senior portraits. Luckily for us eastern Carolina provides beautiful lush backgrounds and all you have to do is provide some fun outfits to go along with it.
