Lifestyle Photography…

My favorite moments in life were watching sesame street on the floor as I ravaged my small hands into a bag of Cheetos, and devoured a small orange soda. Those were the days. Life was simple and sweet . I didn’t even know what the word or meaning of stress was. My biggest worry was what I was going to do when my little hands didn’t feel anything anymore in that small Cheeto bag. What makes being a child so beautiful is how we view the world, and what is beautiful about photography is capturing that view and trying to preserve the essence of what makes a child a child.  A photographers job is truly highlight the pieces that you may not remember of your “childhood”. This I feel is capturing the lifestyle of a child. Which is essentially my favorite and specialized form of photography, lifestyle photography.

When I say Lifestyle photographer many look at me and question what exactly it is. Lifestyle to me mean’s life. So with that said, unless they are willing participants I do not like to pose children. Posing usually doesn’t occur till they  have more of an understanding of having to stay in one place at one time. Kid photography should be incorporated as a lifestyle session.

Babies are a whole different ball game.  With some help from their parents I believe the best moments are documenting the baby being a “baby”. Photographing those small toes, the tiniest of fingers, their gentle eyes, and truly sealing the tender moments of a baby.

Sometimes the best photo’s are showcasing a babies daily routine. Whether it’s a baby in a sink getting bathed; or mommy and daddy reading and getting that reaction of the baby starring at the parents. Those are the photo’s that bring you back, and because Life is to short, why not preserve those moments.
