Wrightsville Beach senior portraits at the Blockade Runner Hotel
Our morning started very early. But as always morning light never lets you down. We kinda did something unconventional but it turned out to be one of my most favorite ways of shooting. We did a photo walk, which consisted of us starting our walk through some streets and ending up near the inter-coastal bridge. This was one of my most colorful senior sessions to date. It was filled with the most beautiful landscape. The spot I was able to shoot at was the Blockade Runner Hotel in Wrightsville beach. I was so excited to be able to photograph on their lawn as my senior Brantley and her family were staying here for the weekend. It was a quick visit from Richmond, VA.
We had such a fun time walking through the streets of Wrightsville and getting some fun images of Brantley on her bike & then headed to a beach access, and then back to the hotel. I loved that Brantley didn’t over dress. It’s a true reflection of her awesome style. She will definitely be able to reflect on how cool her style was when she’s older. I know I was jealous of her fashion sense. She had cute crop tops blended with boot cut and wide leg jeans paired with platform and flat sandals. A total summer vibe!
She is fun, creative, and generous. Very patient even with my small time with her, I noticed how generous she is with her time and very empathetic to those around her. She definitely has a very beautiful soul.
After our photo walking tour around Wrightsville Beach we were able to shoot with her sister Nora. And I loved loved loved this time with them. They reminded me of my sister and I. They have such a beautiful bond and I was so happy to be able to capture those special moments. They were perfect together, completely relaxed, and willing to work with me and get the images as the sun began to get brighter through our morning.
Shooting with Nora definitely helped make Brantley feel comfortable. Who wouldn’t want their bestie with them? And again, both girls have incredible taste in clothes and know what works. Their fashion for the session was so fun and youthful.
We actually did this session in the fall if you can believe it. Our tropical setting of the Blockade runner did not disappoint. I had never been there before and it definitely was a nice surprise!
I hope this helps in preparing for your senior session and also a glimpse of a fun session that was shot at Wrightsville Beach, NC. Wrightsville Beach senior portraits are definitely going to be epic. Whether you choose to be photographed in one of the inlets, or off the intracoastal, or on the beach, the tropical tree’s and also the beautiful moss trees that line some of the neighborhood roads are just exquisite. It definitely makes for beautiful portraits for any graduation session!
