Sascha and Kristen are a true definition of what “meant to be”, means. After a brief meeting in Kentucky, there lives took them two different paths, but Love hand another story to tell.
After working with missionaries and dealing with school obligations, these two’s stars finally aligned in North Carolina. What grew from text messaging, late nigh phone calls, and a lot of speaking of what could be, Sascha took matters into his own hands and made it, what has become.
Their love was destined from the beginning of them meeting and all it took, was one of them realizing it was meant to be.
Their beautiful love story unfolded through travel and was sealed in a small town off the coast of North Carolina, called Washington.
Washington, is quaint and definitely a sleepy small town. We traveled from Wilmington, NC on what started off as a rainy adventure.. It was a Washington NC wedding or Bust!!
Kristen and Sascha had a travel theme wedding, they laced their venue with travel memorabilia ranging from globes, to polaroid cameras, to vintage luggage. They definitely honed in on the small town charm of Washington, NC and added their own little bit of vintage touches for their wedding day.
They also had tons of quaint touches like having a dessert bar that was supplied by their family and guest. They had sunflowers that filled their brick rustic room and that their beautiful bridesmaids carried down the aisle.
The Washington Civic Center, had a nice little dressing room that was hidden up stairs. The bridesmaids and flower girl dresses hung near the staircase, while the girls prepared for he big day. Kristen had chosen navy blue dresses that fit each girls unique style.
Kristen, a petite beauty accentuated her dress with white ballet shoes, and pearl dropped earrings with a beautiful broach that was set onto her bouquet.ย Her details also didn’t disappoint when regarding to her beautiful diamond encrusted white gold wedding engagement and wedding ring.
Kristen was lavished with love, and support from all her girls, who took time to help with her getting ready, and making her even more perfect to walk down the aisle.
The girls gathered for one more last makeup and hair touch-up and than were off.
Sascha and his grooms men got ready on the other side of the venue as Sascha, delivered a special thank you to his boys. He had purchased specialty knives for his groomsmen.
They wrote love notes to one another before they saw each other, how adorable right? Nothing like receiving letters from your love, on your wedding day.
Kristen, is a dental hygienist, soon to be Dentist in North Carolina. She was currently wrapping up all her exams at UNC-Greenville actually while she orchestrated their wedding. She is definitely a multi-tasker, and it shows ๐ They gave out tooth brushes in reference to her future career, as well as Sascha’s love for cycling as a token to their guest. It was a really unique and sweet touch.
Sascha was so gracious to transform the venue to what Kristen wanted. The venue is an old railroad building which had no enclosures. He made her an entrance to go through out of a reclaimed door, and also providing a beautiful altar from wood pallets that he transformed into beautiful works of art.
Needless to say this groom definitely impressed his bride by making it all about her, and making it the magical dream she had envisioned for her wedding day.
The ceremony started with sighs, and awe’s as Kristen walked down the aisle.
Her smile, truly carried through the crowd of family and friends that watched.
They were nothing but smiles as they transferred rings, and sealed their union with a kiss.
The couple danced to Michael Buble, and the guest enjoyed some dancing and even a wedding game to follow.
They toasted, they danced, they ate some cake.. and than we walked outside for the small bit of light we had left to take some couple portraits.
We were lucky to pack our umbrella’s and the Kristen and Sascha, knowing that it was going to be a rainy day, planned! They had a beautiful clear umbrella that was a perfect piece to our portraits. We strolled down the Washington, NC boardwalk that lined their river bank and were nothing but pleased with all our surroundings. The light was beyond gorgeous! We couldn’t have asked for a better miracle from our rainy encounter. Rain on your wedding day, is truly good luck! And we have the proof in these images ๐
Kristen was graceful, and beautiful as she walked through the boardwalk. Sascha could only smile as he shared in secret moments with his new bride.
I was so grateful for the light, and the sky, and the beautiful rain that made these images glow.
As the night came to an end, Sascha and Kristen walked into a dark sky full of sparkles.
**Sascha and Kristen.. I just can’t express how happy I feel to have met two beautiful people like yourselves. You guys were awesome through our whole process and I feel lucky that our stars also aligned to have our paths cross… I wish you all the luck and love for eternity. …**
