Location highlight: Fort Fisher, NC
( A high school senior, college graduate, engagement, maternity, personal branding, you name it..) portrait session dreamboat)
One thing I am always asked is where do you think we should take photos? And I love to suggest something personal but sometimes clients are not from the area and they then trust that I can find them a place that just creates a magical feeling. Well.. although this can sometimes be mosquito-ville, Fort Fisher is a beautiful area to photograph at.
My most favorite time is during the spring and fall. Summer time shooting here is a bit rough. But do-able. The scenes are very beautiful and it’s a place where we can get a little bit of height and pretend we are at a higher elevation. The landscape offers beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and a beautiful view of the port. There are beautiful large rocks that boarder the water around this area, and also lush greenery that is nice to position clients in, but like I mentioned before, cold months are easier to navigate at this location. (no mosquitos, or fewer then warmer seasons at least).
The most perfect way to give you a virtual tour of this place is to show you what it looks like right? So if you love an area that will highlight landscape and add a little pop of color to your session, Fort Fisher is a beautiful location choice. I have been lucky enough to photography maternity, engagements and high school senior sessions here.
My most recent session was a high school senior session at sunrise. It was a beautiful background for my high school senior who happened to be a ballerina for the city club here in Wilmington, N.C. This location always offers such beautiful lighting and a lot of natural sitting and standing areas to create more artistic imagery.
Tip: For more of a private session, try booking a session during the winter time here during sunrise. It’s quiet, beautiful, and the sunrise sky will not disappoint.
