This throwback is one of my favorites, and as I look at my blog posts, I realized I may have not blogged about this special shoot!
Once in a while the stars align and I get a magical shooting concept. Sam and Shauna are best friends, they are the cutest together. They are the epitome of friendship. Lucky for me these girls were up for whatever ideas I had running through my head. So, with that said they wanted to have a shoot that showcased their individual personalities at this point in time of their lives, and also get images that could be keepsakes of their friendship.
We had the idea of doing a very much lifestyle of summer shoot… So with that concept I ran with it and incorporated their love for one another, summer, and fun and we got this magical shoot that we got to execute at Wrightsville Beach, NC. Originally I had thought, Bald Head Island would play a nice backdrop, but because of the ferry schedules, we decided to stay close. And Wrightsville Beach, really was the perfect spot! So, we had all the items that make summer, summer.. Watermelon, surfboards, sun, the ocean, kayaks, a hammock, a beautiful beach house to shoot at, and great friends, what more could you ask for?!
Here are a few of my faves of that fun session! Cheers to summer being in the near future! =)
Creating Romantic nymph imagery…
Styled shoot are one of my favorite types of shoots.
Your able to play dress up, formulate an idea, and than of course execute and bring it to life!
I was able to shoot a nymph styled shoot with a couple of friends in South Florida. We shot in a park near Coral Springs, Florida and we retreated to the undeveloped side of it. We walked a bit, and found some really beautiful spots that were very reminiscent of a forest.
We had a few pieces from my friends dress collection and we decided to use them in a very natured inspired backdrop.
After the hair and makeup were done, it was really pretty see our vision come to life, and also to see how beautiful the pink dress complimented the greenery around it. There wasn’t really an objective of what we wanted, we just wanted to create something that was pretty in an outdoor environment. I really love how romantic, and delicate the feel of these images are. They remind me of a beautiful Ralph Lauren Pink Campaign. Something that could compliment one of his fragrances.
Its just very whimsical, ethereal, and soft. And I’m really glad I got something that was different from normal lifestyle images.
Here are a few of my favorite images…
Delray Beach Fashion Shoot [throwback]
Shooting in florida is always one of my faves, as it’s my old home state! Living in North Carolina is great, I mean it’s the place I met my husband 🙂 But, the photography scene is a bit different and I always love going back to Florida to shoot more coastal things. You can’t help but fall in love with Florida’s coastline, I mean there is no comparison!
I try and go back every year or so, and when I do I usually am lucky enough to gather some friends and get a shoot going 🙂 One of my favorite shoots was in February of 2013! So, yes, throwing it back! And this editorial was filled with colors! Blues, pinks, reds, and every other color in between. I got to shoot for The House of Perna’s Clothing line and with Kasey Kayde a model in sunny Florida. Amanda’s collections are usually very bright, feminine and definitely represent Florida’s color palette to a tee. We shot on location at the beach, in Delray Beach. And we shot around Delray in a home near the water. Nonetheless, the locations don’t disappoint.
The elements + The clothes + and Location= MAGIC! =)
Here’s to reflecting on that shoot once more! And I might have to add another repeat post with all the images from this shoot! They were ahhhmazzing now that I look back at my work… I’m pretty smitten with calling these mine!
