Jessica and Matt’s love story began in 2013…
Jess and Matt agreed to do a sunrise shoot and of course I did a happy dance! As I have mentioned in previous post, I LOVE sunrise sessions. The light never disappoints, and in most cases our locations feel like they were created just for us.
We started our session in Fort Fisher and the sun slowly crept through the clouds. That morning we were experiencing a bit of rain, so I was glad to have the rain stop so we could start our shooting. Fort Fisher is an area that never disappoints with nature providing such beautiful colors to capture.
I loved how pure and romantic, and endearing their relationship is.
Once we finished in Fort Fisher, we headed off to the Fort Fisher beach area. Their was a significant location here that provided the start of this new journey. Matt proposed to Jessica at the gazebo area near the cove so photographing near/around this area was such an awesome thing.
Because the day was cloudy we had different tones and moods in the shoot and definitely capitalized from it. It sometimes felt like we were shooting in the west coast. The light was magical.
One of my favorite moments were when we finally braved the currents in the ocean. Matt, was such a trooper trekking Jessica through the water. We definitely giggled a bunch and experienced tons of wipe outs. The water was extremely active and I am so glad we got to capture such genuine moments.
I cannot wait for their wedding in May! I am so grateful for our meeting, and so grateful for sharing this experience. I literally felt as I was shooting good friends. I had a wonderful morning and can’t thank them enough for such a bright, and colorful shoot.
