The day started off by going through a few windy roads and finally ending up in what felt like a secret location. The weather was nothing but impressive. Temperatures were forecasted in the 90s and some predictions were calling for 100 degree weather. But, when true love is at stake, who cares about sweating right? ( hmmm.. well that’s what we told ourselves, at least).
Jen and her ladies got ready at the barn’s main home. The girls got into their dresses while Jen touched up her makeup downstairs and started to get into her dress. Jen was gorgeous and radiant in her beautiful wedding dress. Her mom and best friend helped her put on the final touches.
The girls finally joined her and we were able to spend some time with Jennifer’s two main girls, Abby and Lola.
I loved this first look because of the execution. Jen initially wanted to go towards the main door that would be used for the ceremony, but because guest were already there we opted to go a different route. Usually on a wedding day, what you have planned usually doesn’t necessarily happen that way. And you know it’s okay. We roll with it, and make our own visions, and make our own moments shine. There is seriously nothing better than a candid moment. And, to me, even though these two didn’t look at one another, the emotions and feels were definitely candid. Josh’s love for Jen is so contagious and so adoring. Jen held onto Josh’s hand and comforted him as they were back to back.
As I was watching it all play out, all I wanted to do was give both of them a hug, and it was so hard not to get in the moment along with my couple. Their love is gentle, kind, innocent, and everlasting.
After the first look, Jen retreated back to the main home, and Josh to the barn side. It was literally 15minutes till the ceremony would start.
I left the girls and headed to see our groom. He was patiently waiting for his own time with his girls, as well as his original ladies in his life.
Josh’s mom helped him put on his boutineer, and his sister Jade also assisted in showing off his handkerchief that was part of his grandpa’s jersey.
Jen arrived by a vintage truck and her entrance again was very emotional and out of a movie. She was graceful as she clinched onto her dad’s hand. The cutest thing was how close Josh is already to Jen’s parents. When Jen and her dad reached Josh, he grabbed his hand and held it tightly. It was a really sweet moment to see, not only was he giving away his daughter, but already had gained a son who he was supporting as well.
Once the I do’s were done, all that was left was the kiss! And this was epic, epicly executed with confetti that filled the air.
It was a fairytale moment that even included Abby their Labrador enjoying the fun!
After the ceremony, we headed over and did a few portraits and than it was off to the reception. We definitely got some really pretty images. Jen and Josh are perfection!
The bride and groom were greeted by all their guest at the barn. This was definitely a fun group, and they kicked it off right away! Jen and Josh entered right into a dance, that was followed by Jen’s dad thanking everyone for their participation on such a momentous occasion. The barn was decorated in blush and white linens. The tables were lined with eucalyptus and roses. It was a very delicate, and feminine touch to what is usually a rustic location.
There was cake, and their was toasting, their was dancing, and some more dancing, and a little bit of more dancing.. I think this group could have partied till sunrise. They definitely entertained!
Congrats to the beautiful couple! Here are a little more images of the wedding night to finish off the story. Thank you for having me and letting me in on your special kind of relationship. It was a true pleasure getting to know you guys and I am so grateful for getting to document your big day!!
