Let’s talk about Sarah and James..all it took was a chance on love that started with a church group meeting. From the moment they met, true love was already written in their love story. No one plans on how you meet your soul mate, or what is said first, or even how the first feelings happen, they just do. And, for these two beautiful people, life had destined them to start a beautiful life on June 6th.
Their wedding was filled with bright blues and green hues, that reflected off our crystal clear water at Wrightsville Beach. It was a beautiful day, for a Wrightsville Beach Wedding! Wrightsville beach is North Carolina’s Cape Cod, and New York’s Hamptons. It’s one of those gems, that has yet to be too commercialized and still has that chic beach town feel.
The day was warm, and you could taste the salt in the air. Every once in a while you would get a slight grace on your face as the cool breeze cooled off your skin. Sarah had chosen to have a Wrightsville Beach wedding [ceremony] followed by a brunch reception at the Inter-coastal waterway restaurant in Wrightsville Beach called Bluewater.
The bride wore a beautiful chiffon based dress that were accented by her pearls that were a family heirloom. She wore her hair tucked back into a french braid, and glistened as she walked down the beautifully shaded walk way; number five. I could have not asked for a prettier way to enter with the private walkway that was hidden amongst the sand dunes.
James smiled at his bride, as she approached him. Wearing khaki pants and a white shirt tailored around a khaki vest. His smile lit up the beach as he joyfully grabbed onto Sarah’s hand. Sarah his song, and James her life, were a few of the words exchanged while reading their personalized vows. They also created a cross that unified their love, their strength, and their belief in love through God. After all was proclaimed they kissed and disappeared to their reception.
Family and friends gathered as they enjoyed a lovely Brunch menu at Bluewater. There was a waffle bar that was also accompanied by quiches. The guest definitely were loving each and every bit of their food options.
The room was decorated with glass containers that were filled with sand, and sand pale mini buckets that held dinner mints in them. Each and every detail was definitely accounted for. Their cake was also done in a beach theme, and was accompanied by cupcakes.
James and Sarah are one of the sweetest couples, you can ever meet. Their attention to detail and worrying about me and my husband throughout the day was incredibly sweet! Who doesn’t like sweet clients? I also was surprised the night before the wedding with a gift in the mail from these two lovelies, and that on it’s own was such a sweet thought for them to do that.
Sarah and James, I can’t express how grateful I was to share on something that was so sweet and dear to you. I hope that you know that I appreciated every nice thought, intention, and doing by both you two and your families.
I hope there are many more wonderful events to share in your new life together and that you two will live as your sign said, happily ever after.
Thank you to my bride and groom also, for also allowing me to shoot my very first Wrightsville Beach Wedding! I am now part of the Wrightsville Beach Wedding Photographer Club 🙂
Wrap up of Details of the day:
Ceremony : Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina
Reception: Blue Water Grill
Dress: Davids Bridal
Photographer: Paula Stauffer [Paula Andrea Photography]
Wrightsville Beach played host to my first wedding of the season. Unfortunately I was not prepared for the weather that came with it. As a photographer your dream for an outdoor wedding has shade! And when I mean shade, I mean clouds, and not bright skies..
It was a socrechaa (in my best Bostonian voice 🙂 ) of a day! It was wicked hot, let’s just put it out there! But alas it was a Wrightsville Beach Wedding. I mean.. It’s like the Cape Cod or Hamptons of the south. It truly is a gem in North Carolina.
There was sweat, and glicising and any other cute word you can describe perspiring with! I am in the final stages of editing Sarah and James’s wedding. One thing I learned from this wedding is keep water for your guest if your doing an outdoor ceremony during these months. And also keep a shaded area designated for your guest. We definitely have to take an account grandma’s and grandpa’s out there and keeping them comfortable.
I dress in an all black Calvin Klein business dress and my husband who assist me, dresses in a black polo, and dress pants. Needless to say, we were on fire.. This was the first time I had decided to shoot without my shoes in fear of getting them ruined. And, I have to say that next time my reef sandals will be handy and I will not be walking on the beach sand again. The sand was a natural reflector to the clear blue sky that we had encountered that day. It was just absorbing every bit of heat possible.
So tips, wear your sunscreen, dress comfortably, and if you can’t… try and wear proper attire to keep you cool at least or bring the perfect H2o solution 🙂
So until I get to post about this beautiful union, here is the wedding video slideshow of this Wrightsville Beach Wedding that I got to share with the bride and groom, and a few little images in between.
